Life's Greatest Blessings...

We have the most amazing daughter. We've had some of the greatest times with her over the past two years. Being honest, we are a little bit nervous in embarking on parenthood again. Kasiana always makes us smile and she is one of our greatest blessings. We can not imagine our lives without her. We know that we will only feel the same way about Jonah. At this point it is hard for us to imagine our lives any different, but we know that it will all change in a couple of weeks. I guess I really need to be sleeping now. Playing dress up. She looks part polynesian with her flower skirt and her bracelet that she is wearing as an arm band. She also has her doctors stuff on.
That is chocolate pudding around her mouth.
Hanging out on the porch after church.

Hanging Out at Surfside

We set out for a fun filled day at our favorite little beach down near Surfside. Janelle, her sister Kim, Kasiana, and I had a great time, and we didn't even get lost. I like the beaches so much better down there, and they are way less crowded.

There was a nice cool breeze, and it was a great escape from the deathly heat that we have been feeling everywhere else. Kasiana had a great time playing with her new sand toys.

She is so funny. I got this video of her after she kept running out to the shore with her bucket yelling, "Water Henry..." It took me awhile to figure out what she was saying. Then I remembered one of her favorite books, "There's a Whole In The Bucket"... Everytime she needed water for her new toy she recited the line from the book when Liza sent her husband, Henry, out for water. She is so dang funny. I can't figure out how to upload my video...keep getting error messages... but you have an idea.

Getting Ready For Baby Jonah

It's official... induction has been set for Thursday, July 30. I check into the hospital at 5:00 AM and the clock is ticking. Nesting has really set in with this baby... or maybe I just have more time on my hands to get ready. I seldom get to bed before midnight, and feel that I accomplish so much more after everyone goes to bed. I start each week making a gigantic list of things that I want to accomplish, and check things off as I go. We have gone from completely changing around our room, to organizing closets, to emptying out the extra bedroom in order to make room for Jonah. We are quickly outgrowing our house.

Kasiana came during the school year in March and I was on bed rest right before. With Jonah, I feel like I am nesting for two now.... since I didn't do Kasiana's nursery completely the way that I wanted it before. Several people have reminded me that it didn't really matter, since she never really used her bed and is STILL sleeping in our bed. That's okay, I enjoy my cuddle time with our baby girl. I've really tried to go in and get her room organized and looking cute. I'll post pictures of her room later. It is almost finished. Her theme is "Froggy Princess". I'm finally getting around to making the quilt that I bought all the material for last year. I've also learned to crochet this summer, and have been crocheting some receiving blankets for Jonah. One of the symptoms of this pregnancy are my hands and fingers going to sleep. I have completely lost feeling in about three fingers... so it makes working with my hands extremely difficult and annoying. I have to say it is better than the carpel tunnel that I had when I was pregnant with Kasiana.

Some of my friends from the ward through me a really nice shower. It was so nice to see everyone, and catch up. I got some really great gifts and Jonah is going to probably going to have to remind me later that "he is not a whale". We've decided to go with the whale theme in his nursery, and some of my friends surprised me with buying the crib bedding that I decided was just too expensive to buy. I absolutely love the way that it is turning out and all I can say is this baby will be sleeping in his crib...

The theme at the shower was whales and I even got some whale clothes for the little guy...

Jonah I know your not a little whale...

Kasiana can't wait to see Jonah...
Right now, she's looking for him through her "flashlights" as she calls them...
Yes, those bottles go to the breastpump... She was doing a little cleaning herself...

Andrea, my sister in law, brought over some beautiful furniture for us to use.
Now all that's left to do is hanging up some letters for his name on the wall, and figuring out what we're doing for curtains, a lamp, and a rug...

More pictures of the shower...
Thank you Allison, Karla, Kim, and Samantha for hosting such a fun party.
Thanks to all my friends for coming and the wonderful gifts.
Thanks to my sweet husband who entertained Kasiana and a some of her friends at the pool for hours at the pool while the women hung out. He runs a pretty good daycare.

Fourth of July

We had some great friends over for the Fourth of July... we ate a yummy brisket that cooked all day with all the fixins. The fireworks were the best we've ever seen from the Moore's backyard. I seriously don't think that we could have been any closer. Kasiana got a little scared, but once we moved her back a little ways she did better. She still had her face buried into my shoulder. Afterwards, she said that they were a little bit fun..Phil, is this how you used to toss the girls up in your cheerleading days?

Waiting for the fun to begin... which will be brighter... the flash of my camera or the fireworks?

Hanging out with Phil and Janelle

That's a big tummy...

We had planned to make homemade peach ice cream, but when we pulled the ice cream freezer out of the garage we found a dead robin in the bottom of the freezer. Yuck! "So that's the secrete to good homemade icecream," our friends thought...

We braved cleaning out the cooler the next day, and celebrated a second time with all of the leftovers. What a fun weekend! We need to have our friends over more often.
