On the Road - Snowbound...

Sunday - We're on our way to Utah for our RV Christmas Holiday, thanks to the Fisher Family. I have the best friends. We decided to get out of Houson and make some of our very own Holiday memories. We had a couple things like kids getting sick that tried to keep us from our trip, but we're on our way.

I've decided life is just too short to not stop and do these kind of things. With Ruben in school and two very high stress jobs, we've just got to get away.

The last two nights we stayed in Fort Worth at the Marriott at Ruben's brother's hotel. We had the Jr. Executive Suite and enjoyed living the life. Ruben loved playing golf with his brother, and the kids and I stayed back in the hotel decorating Christmas ornaments, cookies, and cards. We ate dinner at Genghis Grill for some yummy Stir Fry. We love that place.

Tonight we're staying At Great Grandma's house in Oklahoma City. We're excited to see everyone.

Monday -
Last night was great. Uncle Steve, Aunt Jan, Grandma, Bo, and us had a yummy dinner together. It was the first time in a long time that we've been together at Christmas time.

We're headed to Denver to stay with Ruben's sister. We've been traveling through Kansas for what seems like forever. There is some snow and we stopped to play for a little while at a rest stop along the way. Kasiana is really excited about the snow. We actually ice skated on a frozen puddle in our tennis shoes. Such Texans!!

The kids have been sooo good, but I can tell they are getting restless. This has been a log traveling day-- 10 hours...but then all we have is seven hours tomorrow, and then we'll be in Utah. A big storm is supposedly coming in, but we're hoping to beat it.

Early Christmas at Mom's

We are sad to be away from family for Christmas and decided to celebrate before we left. We went out for a nice dinner and then went back to mom's house. Kasiana got lots of movies for the trip and the CUTEST pajamas. Jonah was happy unwrapping, and Kasiana loved his toys. We'll miss the traditional fajitas on Christmas Eve, but we had a great time.

Girls Night Out -- The Nutcracker Ballet

We went to see the Nutcracker Ballet in Lake Jackson and Kasiana absolutely loved the show. I bought her the Barbie Nutcracker movie and she watched it on the way up there. She decided we should turn it off when the mouse king came on. She thought he was pretty scary. During the ballet the mouse king wasn't scary anymore, but she left saying that the magician was "kinda creepy".

When the mouse king got into a sword fight with the Nutcracker and fell to the stage, she got visibly upset. I whispered to her that he got hurt, but he just needed to rest a little bit and he'd be better. She said, "Mommy, we can take him home and he can rest in the cama (bed). Then he can play with me." We tried to go see him afterwards on the stage. Kasiana was very upset when he didn't come off the stage.

She did however get to take pictures with some of the other dancers from the ballet. She thought the whole evening was pretty cool, and is already talking about going next time. We have to go to Chuck-e-cheese to go find the mouse. She's still talking about him.
