What's For Dinner This Week?

Okay, so the two things I'm looking for this week are the following:
  • A good recipe for the Chicken Gravy that you put on Hawaiin Haystacks
  • Recipes that even picky eaters will like. (Right now my 9 year old step son is in town and he really only likes Mac N' Cheese, Pizza, steak, hotdogs, and McDonald's.

What's on our menu this week?
Buffalo Chicken Salad
Cafe Rio Pork Salad
French Bread Pizza
Fajitas
Roast
Corned Beef Hash
Mom's Broccoli, Cheese & Rice Casserole
Hamburgers
Grandma's Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas (Gringo Style)
Beef Flautas
Hawaiin Haystacks

Now what are you eating? Leave your comments below...

Fourth of July

After church on Sunday, we took some pictures of Kasiana in her 4th of July dress in our front yard under the shade tree. She is the sweetest baby. She loves Sundays and socializing with her friends at church, but by 1:00 she is ready for her nap. Normally on Sundays we nap together. Sometimes Papi even naps with us.

Waiting for the show to begin.
I'm on the activities committee, so we had a full with with setup and clean up from our ward's Fourth of July, carnival style activity. We had a lot of fun.

Kasiana loved seeing the fireworks. After the activity, we all went out to the church parking lot to see the fireworks from our seats that we had saved earlier. I didn't realize that our church parking lot would be such a popular spot to see the fireworks, but it really was the perfect spot.

Trip to Oklahoma

Kasiana was so excited to go on her first airplane ride, and she was so good... awake and asleep! Our time in the airport was spent looking out the window at the luggage cars and planes go by.

Grandma and Kasiana spent alot of time watering outside. Kasiana loved getting wet, and Grandma was just tickled to be out with her.

Kasiana's favorite toys were Grandma's canes. At times she would walk around the house with all three of them.

Aunt Jan and Kasiana hangin' out. Sorry Aunt Jan, I kn ow how you hate garage shots.

Kindred Spirits. I've never seen Kasiana bond so quickly to anyone, as she did with Jan's best friend, Barbara. It was so sweet. She didn't want her to go, and they only spent about 30 minutes together.
Uncle Steve, Kasiana, the dogs, and I went for walks in the afternoons.

Grandma sneaking a kiss. Kasiana warmed up after a couple of days, and made sure to say night-night to Grandma, giving her wet kisses before bedtime.

This one was just a cute one, that I had to include.
Checkin' out the puppies dog food. We actually caught Kasiana trying some of their food. For the rest of the day she had puppy breath. No wonder Lizzie has stinky breath... that food smells pretty bad. Kasiana didn't seem to mind though.
Sitting on Uncle Steve's Motorcycle.

Along with Grandma's canes, Kasiana loved Grandma's reacher. Why did we bother bringing toys for her?

After riding on an airplane for the first time, Kasiana constantly looks for planes now. Ruben speaks only Spanish to her, and I speak mostly English to her. When we see an airplane, we call out "Avion", she calls them "B's" I think because she hears the "V" in avion and it sounds like a "B". She loved riding on the airplane, and did so well. We are so proud of her. She would say, "B... whee..."

We saw my father, and picked up some things from his house.

We met our cousins, Brad and Bo, and Aunt Jan and Grandma for dinner.

Dogs, Water, Wagons, and Fun

We set out for a day of cheap fun at a new park in our very own city. We had the best time. We went to see the "dock dogs" competition... an extreme doggie long jump competition, where they jump off a long dock into an inflatable huge doggie pool. It was amazing some of the dogs jumped up to 24 feet. We had a great spot up front to watch all the action and Kasiana loved it. We got nice and wet as the dogs splashed into the water. We petted lots of puppies and Kasiana absolutely loved it. She loves dogs. While we were petting one dog, the owner asked us if we wanted to let her feed a dog treat to the dog. He kept referring to it as a treat... I used a multi-purpose word that she understands, "cookie". Wrong word... she actually put it in her mouth and started to chow down on it.
Kasiana loves books. We brought her favorite book with us, "Baby Faces"... It's her first book that she reads all the pages, and makes the facial expressions. Her favorite page is "Stinky". She has to show it off to everyone... we even got some shots of her kissing the baby on this page.

Afterward Kasiana lost interest, we went over for some splashing of our own to the kids fountains. The rules clearly posted that you must wear clothes or bathing suits. It didn't say anything about saggy diapers.
We couldn't get her to stop trying to drink the water. We think because it reminds her of drinking out of the water fountain at church. She had so much fun, and started learning from the big kids.

In between water splashing we sat down for a little lunch. Kasiana's favorite food right now is Cheese: Shredded Cheese, Cheese Singles, Cubed Cheese, anything cheesy. She also likes hotdogs, apples, crackers (that she calls cookies), cookies (that she also calls cookies), and drinking out of her Mami and Papi's drinks.
Kasiana loved being pulled around in her wagon.... but then again, who wouldn't love one of these wagons to sit around and be carted around in a hot, sunny day. She had a nice, little, set up and was shaded.

It didn't take long for Kasiana to zonk out. She was extremely exhausted after a fun day at the park. Lately she's gotten into just kicken' it in her car seat. I personally think she's trying to cool off from a hot day in the sun. It's so funny we take off her shoes and blow on her little feet. I think her feet are gonna sweat a lot like mine do... pobrecita... In Kasiana's own words, "_tinky!!" Our favorite shoes right now are pedipeds... cute - but they make her feet sweat.
